Iceland Incentive Travel
Incentive Travel Sample Itinerary
Iceland never ceases to amaze its visitors, offering a new view and experience around every corner. The breathtaking scenery is an adventure in itself, with volcanic craters, lava flows, hot springs and stunning waterfalls.
Guests can take advantage of the long daylight hours in summer, the highland tracks that are open in September, or they can enjoy the quieter time of year and enjoy the autumnal colours, wintry landscapes and the allure of the northern lights. Visitors can also experience a dip in the iconic Blue Lagoon situated close by the airport, on arrival or departure from Iceland. This country is a feast for the senses and offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience for incentive groups.
ARRIVAL AND DISCOVER REYKJAVÍK
After arrival at Keflavik airport, guests will be transferred to the hotel. This new and stylish hotel in the heart of Reykjavik offers a unique character and never a dull moment. Sleep and wake in fun, colourful surroundings with friendly staff to serve and assist you. Original, colourful and modern designs characterize the hotel, combined with old relics from the harbour and shipyard. Outside, the view over Mount Esja and the dry dock just outside give you the experience of accessible nature and maritime activity in one place.
Check in will be followed by a stroll through the city’s streets, discovering the Vikings’ heritage and modern times. This gastronomic tour around Reykjavík is a wonderful alternative to the traditional city sightseeing tour, offering an insight into Icelandic culture and cuisine of the city. Your experienced guide will lead the way through the city centre, stopping at interesting locations for a little taste of Iceland. You will sample local specialities before dinner in a local restaurant and a return to the hotel and overnight stay.
SUPER JEEPS AND SNOWMOBILING ARCTIC ADVENTURE
You will be picked up from your hotel by modified super-jeeps with huge 38″ tires, and your guests will be sitting behind the steering wheel! The vehicles are all linked with a radio system (VHF) so everybody can intercommunicate between the cars. After your guide has given a safety introduction of the cars, fun driver guides will take your guests to see the most famous sights of Iceland. The first destination is the beautiful and historic Thingvellir area where Iceland’s first parliament “Althingi” was established in 930 AD. Next, we reach the famous Geysir area with its bubbling hot springs and the ever-spouting Strokkur. In Geysir you will enjoy lunch before heading for Iceland’s best known waterfall, Gullfoss, which cascades down 32 metres into the mighty glacial river Hvítá.
DINNER BY THE SEASHORE
Located by the harbour this village, with its corrugated iron houses, is the perfect place to dine after a day’s magical Arctic Adventure. The village sits just sixty thousand metres from Iceland’s capital, with a view of volcanoes, the ocean and endless hayfields. This is a delightful setting to enjoy a traditional Icelandic menu.
NORTHERN LIGHTS HUNT
After dinner, guests will have the opportunity to head out in search of the magical Northern lights. Spotting this natural wonder is an experience not to be forgotten and is one of the most breathtaking highlights of any trip to Iceland.
VISIT TO THE BLUE LAGOON
After some free time in the morning, you will be taken by bus to the world famous Blue Lagoon – a fantastic geothermal spa situated in the middle of a lava field. Here guests will unwind in the mineral rich milky blue water and enjoy a Blue Lagoon cocktail. After the relaxation you will return to the hotel to freshen up before dinner.
On this last evening of the trip guests will depart the hotel for dinner at a restaurant which offers charbroiled specialities as well as modern Icelandic cuisine and a delightful cocktail menu. The restaurant could be yours exclusively for dinner.
BREAKFAST AND DEPARTURES
After breakfast in the hotel, guest will be met by their guide for transfers back to the airport and return flights home.
